Becca Ruckes, a senior forward on the Delta State Women's Basketball team, captures the CableONE GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading the Lady Statesmen (5-0, 2-0 GSC) to a pair of victories over the University of West Georgia and University of West Alabama.
The Ripley, Mississippi, native scored a season-high 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds in DSU's 58-45 thumping of the Wolves of West Georgia at The Coliseum. Ruckes was 8-of-12 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the free throw line in the victory.Â
She also chipped in four rebounds and scored two points in just 18 minutes of work in Delta State's 57-51 victory at West Alabama.
Ruckes and the Lady Statesmen return to the court on Thursday, Dec. 10, as DSU hosts Christian Brothers University. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Walter Sillers Coliseum.
