Junior wide receiver LaDarion Peterson has been named the CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week

In the 54-42 setback at West Alabama, Peterson set a school record for kickoff return yards in a game (245), breaking the record held by Maurice Moore (7-168, Harding, 2010).

The Woodville, Miss., native also had a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, which marked the first for the Statesmen since Jeremy Ricks had a 92-yard effort versus West Georgia in 2007.

The return was also the fifth longest in school history.
