This week’s CableOne GoStatesmen.com Female Athlete of the Week is Delta State cross country runner, Rikita Saunders. 

Competing at last Saturday’s NCAA South Regional Championships, Saunders earned All-Region distinction with a 23rd place finish.  Her 6K time of 23:10.06 ties for the second fastest in Delta State history, and caps off a stellar debut season in which she was named GSC Freshman of the Week as well as second team All-Conference. 

At their first regional appearance since 2012, The Lady Statesmen finished 15th.
