This week’s CableOne GoStatesmen.com Female Athlete of the Week is Hailey Leonard of the Lady Statesmen diving team.
Competing at conference rivals Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State, in two separate meets on the same day, Leonard broke the DSU school record with an 11-dive score of 454.87 in a winning effort on the 1-meter board at OBU. Later in the day, Leonard grabbed a victory with a 6-dive score of 251.85 to win the 1-meter competition at HSU.
Next up, Leonard and the Lady Statesmen are scheduled to compete in the inaugural Delta Dive Invite. The event is scheduled to run from Friday, Nov. 17 till Sunday, Nov. 19.
