Senior golfer Mitchell Fifer was named one of GoStatesmen.com's Featured Athletes of the Week, presented by Guaranty Bank, as he helped the Statesmen to a second place finish at the Matt Dyas Invitational on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20. 

Fifer, who finished the tournament two-over-218, finished in a tie for fourth place and was named to the Matt Dyas Invite All-Tournament team. Fifer shot even par in the tournament's final round and was Delta State's top finisher. 

Fifer and the Statesmen are back in action on Monday, Oct. 26 and Tuesday, Oct. 27 to close out the fall season at the University of North Georgia Invitational at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga.
