Delta State University Lady Statesmen softball player Jaclyn Deason was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after she hit .375 in the opening four games of the year for Delta State. 

Deason, a Longville, La. native, hit .375 for the weekend and collected three hits, a double, a run and three RBI. She also walked twice, was hit by a pitch, and stole two bases in two attempts.

Deason was 2-for-3 with an RBI single and an RBI double in Delta State's 5-3 victory over Henderson State as the Lady Statesmen notched their first win of the year.

The Lady Statesmen return to the diamond on Friday, Feb. 5 at noon as the travel to Huntsville, Ala. for the University of Alabama in Huntsville Charger Chillout.
