Delta State University Statesmen basketball player Kelen Dietrich was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after a strong week of performances on the hardwood for the Statesmen. 

In a midweek showdown in Huntsville, Ala. against the No. 10 Alabama-Huntsville Chargers, Dietrich drained 11 three-pointers to set a DSU single-game record for most made three-pointers. The record was held by Larry Walker, who made 10 three-pointers against Auburn-Montgomery on February 13, 1997.

Dietrich set the record while shooting 11-of-16 from three-point territory, and continued his hot-shooting in a weekend series against Union (Tenn.). In game one against the Bulldogs, Dietrich tallied 17 points and went 5-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc. He also added two rebounds and two assists for the Statesmen.

Dietrich, a Cincinnati, Ohio native, added 11 points in the final game of the weekend while shooting 3-of-7 from three-point territory. He also added two rebounds and two assists in the weekend finale for the Green and White. 

Delta State is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 16, and Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Walter Sillers Coliseum against the University of West Alabama before they host Mississippi College for a weekend series on Friday, Feb. 19, and Saturday, Feb. 20.
