Delta State University softball player Jenny Griggers was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after she hit .500 in a weekend series win against the University of West Alabama.

Griggers drove in three runs on the weekend, scored two runs, and slugged .900 in three games against the Tigers. Griggers also delivered a three-run, walk-off home run in game three to clinch the series win for the Lady Statesmen.

Delta State returns to the diamond on Friday, March 12 and Saturday March 13 at Lee (Tenn.) University in Cleveland, Tenn. The Lady Statesmen and Lady Flames play a single game on Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday at Noon CT.
