Delta State University baseball player Blake Wolferding was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after he hit a pair of home runs and drove in six total runs to help the Statesmen secure the weekend sweep of the Valdosta State Blazers. 

Wolferding hit .385 for the weekend (5-for-13) and clubbed a pair of home runs and drove in six runs in Delta State's three games. 

In game one of the weekend, Wolferding drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. He followed that up with a 2-for-4 effort and a solo home run in a narrow game two win for the Statesmen.

The Sikeston, Mo. native also went 3-for-6 with a three-run home run, two walks, and four RBI in Delta State's wild 15-14 victory in 12 innings. 

Delta State returns to action on Tuesday, April 6 against the University of Southern Arkansas. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday night at Harvey Stadium Ferriss Field.
