Delta State University student-athlete Jawone Blankenship was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athlete of the Week after his performance this past weekend on the diving board. 

Blankenship, a diver for the Statesmen swimming and diving team, posted a score of 476.73 on the one-meter diving board to win the one-meter competition. He also secured a score of 303.45 on the three-meter diving board, sweeping both diving competitions for the Statesmen. 

Both of his scores were good enough to qualify him for the NCAA national championships with a "B" consideration score.
