LONGVIEW, TEXAS - The Delta State University Statesmen soccer team wasted little time Saturday getting into an offensive rhythm, downing LeTourneau College 4-2.  The victory evens the season record to 1-1 for the Statesmen, while the Yellowjackets fell to 0-2.

"After a tough loss at Lincoln Memorial earlier in the week, I was very interested to see how the guys would respond," stated DSU head coach Jim Allen.  "We put the ball in the back of the net when we had the opportunity to tonight and I was very pleased with our over all effort."

The Statesmen will continue their road swing on Friday and Saturday of this week against Robert Morris College-Springfield and Robert Morris College-Lake County.  Friday's contest with RMC-Springfield is slated for 7 p.m., while Saturday's RMC-Lake County match will kickoff at 2 p.m.  

Delta State will play its home opener on September 9 versus Central Baptist.  Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Delta Field.
