Delta State Men's Basketball Weekly Release - No. 2

CLEVELAND - The Statesmen (11-3, 1-0 GSC) of Delta State University look to remain undefeated in Gulf South Conference play this week with a pair of conference clashes against nationally ranked opponents. DSU returns to the court on Thursday, Jan. 15 when they host the No. 24 Boll Weevils (11-3, 0-1 GSC) of Arkansas-Monticello at Walter Sillers Coliseum. Game time is set for 8 p.m. The Statesmen will then take their show on the road to No. 17 Christian Brothers (12-2, 1-0 GSC) on Saturday, Jan. 17. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. at Canale Arena in Memphis, Tenn. 

Led by GSC West Player of the Week Alton Robinson's 25 points and 10 boards, Delta State defeated Ouachita Baptist, 84-73, in impressive fashion last Saturday in the GSC opener for both clubs. Junior guard Joe McCray added 19 points in the win, and junior point guard Chad Akins dished out a GSC-career best nine assists. 

Both games will be broadcast on the Statesmen Sports Network starting 15 minutes prior to tipoff. J.T. Webb and Troy Treasure will have the call.
