Weekly Release: Delta State Men's Basketball Game Notes - SAU/ATU

CLEVELAND - The Statesmen (11-5, 1-2 GSC) of Delta State University look to get back on track in Gulf South Conference play this week with a pair of conference clashes against some of the toughest teams in the conference. 

DSU returns to the court on Thursday, Jan. 22, when they hit the road to Magnolia, Ark. , to battle Southrern Arkansas (7-8, 2-1 GSC) . Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. The Statesmen will come back home to face off thier third ranked opponent in recent week No. 17 Arkansas Tech (13-3, 3-0 GSC) on Saturday, Jan. 24. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Walter Sillers Coliseum. 

Despite great play from junior point guard Chad Akins and senior forward Alton Robinson, the Statesmen dropped two GSC games last week, falling to Arkansas-Monticello, 70-75, at Sillers Coliseum and on the road at Christian Brothers, 65-75. 

Both games will be broadcast on the Statesmen Sports Network starting 15 minutes prior to tipoff. J.T. Webb and Troy Treasure will have the call.
