CLEVELAND, Ohio -
L.J. Castile, a former Delta State University All-GSC and All-South Region selection, continues to turn heads in camp for the Cleveland Browns, including a 20-yard end around that set up Jeff Wolfert's 44-yard field goal in the Browns 27-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.
According to Vic Carruci, Senior Editor for ClevelandBrowns.com, "Free-agent wide receiver
L.J. Castile, who has managed to turn heads with some of his athletic receptions in camp, was impressive with his burst of speed on an end-around late in the quarter. Keep an eye on this guy."
Carrucci added, "Castile's run helped set up Jeff Wolfert's second field goal of the night, this one from 44 yards. If the Browns didn't have a guy named Phil Dawson, they would probably be comforted that Wolfert was on the roster. It will be interesting to see if he ends up on another team."
Castile helped lead the Statesmen to their third Gulf South Conference title in four years last season and a runner-up finish nationally after catching 67 passes for 900 yards and 13 touchdowns.
GoStatesmen.com and the Statesmen Insider Social Network will continue to track Castile's progress as the Browns begin the final push in fall camp.
