CLEVELAND, Tennessee – Delta State women's soccer traveled to Cleveland for a matchup with Gulf South Conference opponent Lee University on Friday afternoon. The Lady Flames earned the win, 5-0, over the Lady Statesmen.
DSU (2-8-1, 0-6-0 GSC) fell behind in the early minutes of the game when LU (6-4-1, 5-1-0 GSC) struck first on a Kathryn Healy goal from in the box that found the back of the net at the 4:34 mark. Fifteen minutes later, LU's Kaela Leskovar scored the go-ahead goal to notch the score at 2-0 in favor of Lee. The score remained tilted in favor of the Lady Flames going into the half.
The second half opened with more of the same. Goals from Lee in the 64
th, 67
th, and 87
th minutes gave LU the commanding 5-0 lead, enough to secure the win.
Katie Swaine was in goal for the Lady Statesmen and suffered the loss. Swaine allowed five goals but snagged 14 saves.

Delta State is back on the pitch Sunday, Oct. 19 in Rome, Ga. DSU will face the Shorter Hawks at 1:00 p.m.
