ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Delta State University men's soccer team earned its first shutout of the season in a 3-0 non-conference victory over Ouachita Baptist University on Friday at Kluck Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:- Jake Carragher scored his first goal in the Green-and-White, as his shot from 10 yards out beat OBU keeper Jarrod Collins. The goal was assited by Brock Hollier and Daniel Deblaere.
- Luke Mason gave DSU a 2-0 advantage in the 43rd minute, with his team-leading third goal of the year, when he connected on a corner kick by Nicolas Garrido.
- The Statesmen outshot the former Gulf South Conference member 7-5 in the first 45 minutes.
- Garrido finished the scoring in the 72nd minute, when he beat Collins from 10 yards out. It marked the second tally of the season for the newcomer.
- The Statesmen were outshot 8-4 in the second half.
- Each keeper made four saves in the contest.
STAT OF THE GAME:- Seven-of-11 DSU shots were on goal, while OBU had four on target.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:- It marked the first shutout of the season for the Statesmen and the second career for goalkeeper Jacob Hauenstein. His last shutout came in a 2-0 victory over Talladega College on Oct. 4, 2014. The last shutout for DSU was on Oct. 26, 2014, when the Statesmen blanked Spring Hill 1-0.
