CLEVELAND, Miss. – Cumberland University (Tenn.) scored two goals in the first eight minutes and held on for a 2-1 victory over the Delta State University men's soccer team on Tuesday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bulldogs opened the scoring just 46 seconds into the match when Elliot Goodwin took a cross from Josh Armstrong and slid a shot past DSU goalkeeper Jonathan Hilton.
- Cumberland added to its lead 7:13 later when Brian McNamara connected on a cross from Goodwin.
- The Statesmen outshot Cumberland 5-3 in the first half.
- DSU scored its lone goal of the contest in the 76th minute when Amine Rahmani headed in his second goal of the season off an assist from Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week Nicolas Garrido.
- Cumberland outshot the Statesmen 4-2 in the second half.
