Jarvis York is one of 10 finalists for the coveted CSpire Charles Conerly Trophy, presented annually to the top collegiate football player in Mississippi. York and the other nine finalists will be in Jackson on Tuesday, Dec. 1 for the presentation.

York is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. York, a first team All-Gulf South Conference selection, led the GSC with 61 receptions for 840 yards while scoring four touchdowns. York turned in a career-high 12 grabs for 128 yards and a score versus West Alabama. He also made eight catches for 137 yards and a touchdown in DSU's 51-44 win at No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce.
York, a four-year letterman, finished tied for ninth in Delta State history with 123 receptions. In 41 games, including 30 starts, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native caught 123 passes for 1,588 yards and seven touchdowns.
Delta State football has a long-standing tradition with the Conerly Trophy, including the first-ever recipient Tregnel Thomas in 1996. Josh Bright, a quarterback from Batesville, took home the Conerly after leading the Statesmen to the 2000 NCAA Division II National Championship. Former quarterback Scott Eyster was a four-time finalist during his record-setting career.
The Conerly Trophy will be presented on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson. The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by the banquet at 6:30 p.m. Ticket are $100 each and may be purchased by calling the MSHoF at (601) 982-8264 or
