Delta State men's basketball is coming off a 1-1 road weekend against West Georgia and West Alabama. The Statesmen enter a home stretch this week against Christian Brothers and the Bulldogs of Union.
Last season, DSU split the series with both CBU and Union, winning on the road but falling at home.
The Green-and-White rank second in the Gulf South Conference in scoring defense (67.9 ppg), field goal percentage (50.2%), field goal percentage defense (40.4%) and free throw percentage (74.2%).
Devin Schmidt holds the second place spot in the league in scoring, averaging 24.3 points per game. The junior guard jumped two spots over the weekend on the all-time scoring list at DSU. He now has 1,305 career points and ranks eighth.
Schmidt and
Jack Madgen are neck-and-neck in the career 3-pointers categories. Madgen ranks third in threes made (152), while Schmidt is one spot behind with 145 triples. In threes attempted, Madgen is third with 369 attempts and Schmidt is fourth with 359.
Madgen currently leads the conference in free throw percentage with a 96.3 percent (26-of-27) from the line.

Delta State will hit the road for the final conference games of 2015, as the Statesmen take on Valdosta State on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. and West Florida on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 4 p.m.
