  • The Lady Statesmen responded in the next frame when Kaitlin Moore grounded out to first, bringing Kassidy Tally in to score and cut the deficit in half 2-1.
  • West Alabama's Mariah Chavez extended the Tiger's lead to 3-1 with a solo shot in the bottom of the fourth.
  • With the bases loaded, Taylor Holland was hit by a pitch that scored Madison Zoeller for DSU to come within one run, 3-2.
  • Down to their last three outs, Amber Adcock led off homering to left field to tie the game at 3-3.
  • West Alabama went down in order in the bottom of the seventh, forcing extra innings.
  • Bases loaded and no outs set the scene for Adcock again. This time the senior infielder went yard for the grand slam, her second consecutive homerun, to give Delta State the 7-3 lead.
  • The Tigers added two more runs in the bottom of the eighth, but DSU earned the 7-5 victory.
  • Adcock went off for a season-best 4-for-4 with two homeruns and five RBIs. Holland and Moore added an RBI apiece.
  • Freshman Shayna Beaver (3-0) earned the win in relief, pitching 2.2 innings and giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits. Taylor Tucker picked up the save for her first of the season.

Game Two
  • Both squads were scoreless after the first inning of play, but Delta State demolished the stalemate with eight runs in the top of the second inning on a Kory Watterson two-run homerun, an Adcock solo shot, and a Jessie Rodriguez two-RBI double to give DSU the commanding 8-0 lead.
  • The Lady Statesmen built on their lead in their next opportunity. Mariah Alvarez singled through the hole at shortstop to score Tally. Disciplined plate appearances allowed two more runs to get walked in for DSU to lead 12-0.
  • West Alabama did not go quietly, as they tallied seven runs in the bottom of the third to notch the score at 12-7.
  • DSU tacked on two more runs in the fourth, 14-7, courtesy of a Moore two-run homerun over the right-center field wall.
  • The Tigers continued to make noise into the fourth and fifth, plating six runs in the fourth and one in the fifth on a solo homerun by Audrey Diekmann, tying the game at 14-14.
  • With two outs in the seventh, Tally singled, stole second, and advanced to third on a single through the right side from Holland. Moore brought two runs around to score by reaching on a fielding error by UWA. Alvarez later came through with an RBI-single through the hole at shortstop, giving Delta State the 17-14 advantage.
  • Four Tigers came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, but too much damage was done as DSU earned the sweep and secured the series win with the 17-14 victory in game two's slugfest.
  • Adcock finished game two going a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate with three RBIs. Tally followed by going 3-for-4, scoring three times.
