LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama used two seven-run innings to top Delta State softball in the series finale, 16-8, on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED- DSU struck first early in the first inning on a Kaitlin Moore RBI-double to score Taylor Holland and take the 1-0 lead.
- The next inning Holland reached on a UWA error that scored Madison Zoeller and Ashley Mrozinski, extending Delta State's lead to 3-0.
- West Alabama produced seven runs on two hits and two DSU errors to go ahead of the Lady Statesmen 7-3 in the bottom of the third.
- The Green-and-White came within one run, 7-6, the very next inning when Mariah Alvarez doubled to left-center field, scoring Amber Adcock. Kory Watterson crossed the plate on a heads-up play when Andrea Cutts grounded out to shortstop. Alvarez later came around to score on a Zoeller double down the left field line.
- Holland scored in the top of the fifth on an error by the catcher, while Moore scored on a Brook Cline sacrifice fly to regain the lead 8-7.
- The Tigers used another seven-run inning in the fifth to get the lead back 14-8 and never trailed again. Two more runs on three hits in the bottom of the sixth gave West Alabama the 16-8 victory in six innings.
- Moore led the offense, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run. Holland added two RBIs, while Adcock, Cline, Alvarez, Cutts, and Zoeller each contributed an RBI.
- Taylor Tucker (1-2) suffered the loss in the circle, pitching 2.0 innings and giving up three earned runs on four hits.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE- Amber Adcock continued her dominance at the plate, finishing the series going 8-for-9 with eight RBIs and three homeruns.
- West Alabama used two seven-run innings to take the run-rule victory.
