HUNTSVILLE, Ala.– Delta State University softball dropped the doubleheader to No. 7 Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday afternoon at Charger Park.

HOW IT HAPPENEDGame One- Hits were evenly dispersed between the two squads in game one with each team racking up six hits.
- Only one run crossed the plate the entire game, coming from Alabama-Huntsville, which ended up being the deciding factor.
- The Chargers scored one run on two hits in the bottom of the fifth to take the 1-0 lead. Delta State could never muster up enough offense to respond, falling 1-0.
- Raleigh, Miss. native Kassidy Tally led the offensive efforts, going 2-for-4 from the plate.
- Freshman Shayna Beaver (5-3) suffered the loss, pitching the complete game and giving up one earned run on six hits.
Game Two- UAH struck first in the top of the second inning by scoring two runs, using one hit and capitalizing on two DSU fielding errors to take the early 2-0 lead.
- Delta State answered in its next at-bats, knotting the score at 2-2. Kaitlin Moore and Amber Adcock used back-to-back RBI-singles to score Rodriguez and Tally.
- The Chargers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth courtesy of a Haley Thompson two-run shot to left center. Adding another UAH run in the fifth notched the score at 5-2 in favor of Huntsville.
- Adcock led off the top of the sixth with a solo homer over the left field fence, but the attempt was too little too late, as the Lady Statesmen dropped game two by a final 5-3.
- A 5-foot-4 senior infielder, Adcock led the offensive attack in game two, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored.
- Taylor Johnson (5-2) took the loss, going the full game and giving up five runs, three earned, on five hits.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE- Junior Kassidy Tally extended her hit streak to 16 games and has reached base in the last 18 contests. Six of the 16 games from Tally's hit streak were multi-hit performances.
- Kaitlin Moore now ranks third in the Delta State record book for career doubles. The Southaven, Miss. native has 44 career doubles and is chasing Laura Simpson (1996-99) who holds the top spot with 48.
- In the doubleheader, Delta State stranded 16 base runners, while Huntsville left 11 on base.
