PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Lady Statesmen of Delta State University dropped the series finale against West Florida on Sunday afternoon to suffer the series loss.

HOW IT HAPPENEDGAME 1- A continuation from a weather suspension, game two of the series was completed on Sunday, April 26.
- Only one run crossed the plate for either team.
- Kaitlin Moore's solo home run to right field with two outs in the top of the first inning scored the lone run of the game to give Delta State the 1-0 lead; Moore's fourth long ball of the season.
- West Florida recorded four hits and left four on base without crossing the plate, falling by a final 1-0.
- Delta State recorded two hits in the outing, Moore's home run and Mariah Alvarez's single in the top of the seventh.
- Sophomore Taylor Tucker (4-4) picked up her first shutout win of 2015, pitching her fourth complete game and giving up four hits.
GAME 2- Kassidy Tally led off the top of the second inning for DSU with an infield single, stole second, and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt from Kara Lane Nowell. A squeeze play executed by Jessie Rodriguez scored Tally from third to put the advantage in favor of Delta State, 1-0.
- The Argos responded in the bottom of the third on two RBI-singles from Belser and Toney, giving UWF the 2-1 lead.
- West Florida tacked on another run, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth on Belser's sacrifice fly to center field.
- Delta State never recovered from the deficit, falling 3-1.
- Of the seven hits recorded by DSU, Alvarez had two with the rest dispersed among five Lady Statesmen.
- Katie Justice (3-4) suffered the loss, pitching 5.0 innings and giving up three runs, two earned, on eight hits.
STAT OF THE DAY- The entire series was a lowing scoring affair, as both teams combined for eight runs in 21 innings of play.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE- The Lady Statesmen have been outhit by their opponents in six of their last seven games.
- Kassidy Tally now holds the third spot in the career runs scored column in the DSU record books. The Raleigh, Miss., native has crossed the plate 132 times in her tenure and looks to pass Brittany Tillery (2006-09) in second with 172.
