CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of West Alabama used a penalty kick in the 61
st minute and held on for a 1-0 victory over the Delta State University men's soccer team on Friday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:- Alex Brown calmly placed a penalty kick to the right side of the net in the 61st minute in what proved to be the lone goal of the contest.
- DSU had one of its best chances of the contest in the 17th minute, when a long-range shot from Jaxon Lambert sailed just wide of the post.
- The Tigers best scoring chance of the first half came in the 44th minute, as AJ Williams sliding shot off a cross narrowly missed the target.
- The Statesmen outshot the Tigers 7-3 in the first 45 minutes.
- Following the 61st minute penalty kick, the teams combined for just three more shots for the rest of the contest. The lone UWA effort following the goal, came in the 88th minute.
- DSU outshot the Tigers 10-7.
STAT OF THE GAME: BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:- Three of the last four meetings between DSU and UWA have been decided by one goal or less.
