Lady Statesmen Fall To Mississippi College, 4-1

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Sayit Mejia Bello scored two of Mississippi College's (2-0, 1-0 GSC) four second half goals en route to a 4-1 win over the Delta State University women's soccer team (1-1, 0-1 GSC) on Tuesday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Delta State claimed a 1-0 lead when Bailey Saebi scored off a free kick from Rebecca Deegan in the 49th minute.
  • Mississippi College got the equalizer three minutes later when Sydney Oliver scored off a feed from Hannah Bailey.
  • Bellow scored an unassisted goal in the 56th minute and on a penalty kick in the 68th minute to push the Choctaw lead to 3-1.
  • Gaylynn Cooper tallied the final goal of the afternoon in the 84th minute to give MC a 4-1 lead.
  • DSU goalkeeper Taylor Taffo made nine saves, three in the first half and six in the second.
