CLEVELAND, Miss. – After a late second half goal, the Delta State University men's soccer team fell to Christian Brothers University 2-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ashley Walker opened scoring for the Statesmen early in the first half with a right-footed shot in the box from a low cross by Anthony Fernandez.
- Christian Brothers answered late in the first half when Xavi Lao scored on a ball sent through the middle from Robert Rainer.
- Late in the second half, the Buccaneers secured the win from a Brendan Bennett goal in the box off a Jake Barrett low cross.
- Jacob Hauenstein made his fourth start in goal for Delta State and saved three shots, allowing two goals.
- In goal for the Buccaneers, Viktor Hoestbo made his fourth start and allowed one goal.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- CBU outshot Delta State 5-4 in the first half, and 9-1 in the second half.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
- This marks the 19th meeting between DSU and CBU since the series started in 2004.
- The Statesmen are 4-3 at home this season.
