Statesmen Draw 1-1 Against Lee On The Road

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Delta State men's soccer drew 1-1 against Lee University on Sunday, Oct. 23, at Lee Soccer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Zachary Breaux opened scoring for the Statesmen late in the first half on a header with an assist by Andrew Aur.
  • At the end of the first half, the Flames outshot the Statesmen 12-4, but couldn't find the back of the net.
  • In the second half, David Perez scored the equalizer for the Flames in the 67th minute with an assist by Jake Maloney and Jose Orellana.
  • At the end of regulation time, the Flames were even with the Statesmen in shots (8-8) and goals.
  • The Flames recorded only four shots in the first period of overtime.
  • In the second period of overtime, Lee recorded four shots, while Delta State recorded only one.
  • In goal for the Statesmen, Jacob Hauenstein made his sixth start, made eight saves and allowed one goal.
  • Flames keeper, Daniel Hrenko, earned his 12th start, made four saves and allowed one goal.
 
STAT OF THE GAME:
  • The Flames outshot the Statesmen 28-13 and 9-5 in shots on goal for the match.
