HOW IT HAPPENED
Scoring:
- The Statesmen defense held Florida Tech to three and out on the opening possession. The FIT punt snap sailed over the punters head out of the end zone for a safety to give the Statesmen a 2-0 lead with just 1:27 gone off the first quarter clock.
- Florida Tech scored on its first two offensive possessions of the game to take a 14-2 lead. Antwaun Haynes scored from 13-yards out to cap an eight-play, 80-yard drive and give the Panthers a 7-2 lead with 7:41 left in the opening quarter.
- Trevor Sand's pushed his way into the end zone for a seven-yard touchdown run on FIT's next possession with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter.
- Haynes added his second touchdown, scoring from 14-yards out to open the second quarter and give the Panthers a 21-2 lead with 14:29 to go.
- Mark Cato completed a two-yard pass to Kenny Johnston to put Florida Tech up 28-2 at the 6:18 mark of the second quarter.
- The Statesmen added its first touchdown on a Collin Willis to LaDarion Peterson 64-yard pass to trim the FIT lead to 28-9 with 3:52 left in the first half.
- Cato scrambled and found Tityus Mitchell for a five-yard touchdown pass to extend the FIT lead to 35-9 with 7:15 to play in the third quarter.
- Willis scored on a seven-yard run to cap a 12-play, 75-yard drive and cut the FIT deficit to 35-16 with 7:30 to go in the fourth.
- Haynes added his third rushing touchdown and capped the FIT scoring on a 15-yard scamper to give FIT a 42-16 lead with 3:02 to go in the fourth quarter.
Offense:
- Delta State finished with 317 yards of total offense, 321 passing and 18 rushing.
- Florida Tech totaled 363 yards, including 311 on the ground and 52 through the air.
- Collin Willis set career highs, completing 32-of-53 passes for 303 yards and with one touchdown passing and rushing for the Statesmen.
- Junior running back Chris Robinson rushed 12 times for 18 yards and caught eight passes for 97 yards for the Statesmen.
- Mark Cato complete five-of-14 passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Florida Tech passing attack.
- Antwuan Haynes led the FIT ground game, rushing 27 times for 212 yards and three touchdowns.
Defense:
- Defensive back Keith Flanigan and linebackers Chandler Ector and Landry Tullo totaled 10 tackles for the Statesmen defense.
- Chris Stapleton had 12 tackles and Andrew Adair registered nine tackles to lead the Florida Tech defense.
Special Teams:
- Statesmen junior punter Cody Mills punted seven times for 43.3 yards.
- Aneus Sangster returned two punts for 42 yards, including a 28-yard return that set up FIT's first score second quarter touchdown.

- Florida Tech held Robinson to a season low 18 yards and zero touchdowns, the first time this season that has happened.
Game Changer:
- Florida Tech scored 28 straight points, three in the first quarter and one early in the second quarter, to build a 28-2 lead early.
Notables:
- Robinson was held to a season-low 18 yards and was held without a rushing or receiving touchdown for the first time this season. Robinson was also held without a rushing score for just the second time (West Alabama and North Alabama) this season.
- Robinson finished the year tied for the Gulf South Conference single-season touchdown mark, equaling Central Arkansas' Kentrel Rogers' 2005 mark of 24. Robinson had 19 rushing touchdowns and five receiving scores.
- Quarterback Collin Willis made his first career start and connected on a 64-yard touchdown pass to LaDarion Peterson with 3:52 left in the second quarter for his first touchdown pass of his career.
- Senior quarterback Tyler Sullivan did not play due to an ankle injury in his final game for the Statesmen. Sullivan wraps up his career completing 744-of-1152 passes for 9,157 yards and finished with 9,684 yards of total offense. The Louisville, Miss., leaves DSU ranked second in career passing yards and total offense.
- DSU finished 4-6 overall, marking their first sub-500 record since going 3-7 in 2012 in Head Coach Jamie Chadwell's lone season at the helm.
