CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Delta State University women's basketball team outscored Miles 39-23 in the second half as they pulled away from Miles for a 76-52 win in non-conference action on Monday night at Lloyd Clark Court-Walter Sillers Coliseum.

How It Happened:
- After the teams combined to start the game 1-of-5 from the floor, the Lady Statesmen held a 3-0 lead with 6:00 left in the first quarter.
- DSU held Miles scoreless until Larion Scott's three pointer with 5:02 left in the quarter.
- The Lady Statesmen led by as many as nine in the quarter (12-3), but the visitors went on an 8-3 run to close out the first quarter.
- DSU again went up by nine (22-13) with 8:17 in the second quarter, but Miles responded with a 16-7 run to take a brief 29-28 lead with 3:18 left in the half.
- The lead lasted just 18 seconds, as Alondrea Rush connected on a jumper to give DSU a lead that it would not relinquish.
- Kaelin Kneeland led DSU with 14 points in the opening half. Ashley McCrear led Miles with eight. Miles held a 17-14 edge on the boards at halftime. DSU took advantage of 15 miscues by the visitors, leading to 14 points. The Lady Statesmen had just six turnovers in the first 20 minutes.
- DSU shot 48.4 percent (15-of-31) from the floor in the first half, while Miles was 44 percent (8-of-18).
- The Lady Statesmen shot a blistering 61 percent (11-of-18) in a 26-12 third quarter that saw the visitors score just two points over the final 3:12.
- After taking a 63-41 lead after three quarters, Carly Keller gave DSU its biggest lead of the game (66-41), off a three pointer with 8:20 remaining.
- DSU held Miles to just five points over the final 5:37 to close out the game.
- Kneeland led DSU with 22 points on 9-of-15 from the floor. Kneeland also had six rebounds, and led DSU with five assists. Aspriona Gilbert had eight points in each half to finish with 16. Alondrea Rush added 13, while Keller had eight.
- Anissa Jackson led DSU with seven rebounds.
- DSU finished 31-for-62 from the floor, while Miles was 16-of-41 (39 percent). McCrear, who finished with 13, led the Golden Bears.
Notables:
- The Lady Statesmen have led at the half and have out-rebounded their opponents in all four of their games.
- Kneeland's 22 points were a career high. Gilbert was just two points away from matching her career high.
- After forcing 23 turnovers in the last game versus Southern Arkansas, the Lady Statesmen forced a season-high 24.
