CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Delta State University men's basketball team shot a season high 59 percent on the road to beat Lee University on Saturday night at Paul Dana Walker Arena.

How It Happened:
- The Flames opened the game on a 6-0 spurt early in the first half that saw a three pointer from Rico Overall and another by Jervon Johnson.
- Lee maintained the lead for a good part of the first half, but Delta State claimed the first lead of the night at 11:49 from a Brett Warner three making the score 19-17.
- The Statesmen wouldn't look back going on a 22-7 run throughout the majority of the first half.
- Delta State went in the locker room at halftime with a 56-40 lead over the Flames.
- Warner led all scorers with 23 first half points, shooting a perfect 8-for-8 beyond the arch. Devin Schmidt and John Cornish followed with nine points apiece. Kilpatrick led with four rebounds, then Davis with three.
- Schmidt opened scoring with a three at the start of the second half.
- After a three-pointer from Warner to extend the lead to 21, which was the largest of the night at the 12:02 mark.
- Both offenses were back-and-forth for the majority of the second half. The Flames made a late 15-5 run in the second half, but wasn't enough as the Statesmen held on for the victory, 87-71.
- The Statesmen finished a season high 26-of-44 (59 percent), while the Flames were 24-of-63 (38 percent). Delta State finished 15-of-23 shooting (65 percent) from long-range, while Lee were 6-for-27 (22 percent)
- Four Statesmen finished the game in double figures. Warner led the way with 32 points. Cornish had 15 points, followed by Schmidt (13) and Ravion Henry (12). Kilpatrick led with five boards, followed by Henry with four and Cornish and Warner with three apiece.
- Overall led the Flames with 29 points. Keevin Tyus finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Notables:
- Delta State capitalized off 12 Lee miscues, scoring nine points. The Flames held an 18-2 edge on second chance points.
- Warner's 32 points posted a career-high.
- Henry's four assists and four rebounds sets a new career-high. Also, the 15 points from Cornish sets a career-high.
