NCAA DII Baseball Selection Show

CLEVELAND, Miss. - With their ticket already punched for the 2016 NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament, the Statesmen (38-15) of Delta State University will find out their seed and the field of 64 as the NCAA officially announces the bracket on Sunday, May 15 at 9 p.m. CST.

The Statesmen claimed the Gulf South Conference title and an automatic berth with a 3-1 win over the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Tuesday at Spooner Field in Pensacola, Fla. One other team has already claimed their league's automatic berth, Claflin University (SIAC). Tampa (Sunshine), needs one win this weekend over Rollins to lock up the second, leaving four at-large spots to complete the South Region field of seven.

Delta State will be making its 30th NCAA postseason tournament appearance at the South Regional May 19-22 at a yet to be determined campus site. The Statesmen, who claimed the 2004 NCAA Division II National Championship, have won 11 region titles and finished national runner-up in 2012 at the College World Series in Cary, N.C.
