Connor Hogg scored three minutes into overtime to help lead the Delta State University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Spring Hill College on Friday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Statesmen outshot Spring Hill 12-1 in the first half.
- The Badgers opened the scoring in the 53rd minute with a goal from Viktor Kvarnlof, his first of the season, after his left footed shot found the back of the net.
- Ricardo Filho tied the match in the 68th minute from the penalty spot, his fifth on the season.
- DSU outshot Spring Hill in the second half 8-5.
- Hogg scored the winner three minutes into overtime after a penalty kick was awarded, his second goal of the season.
- Matthew Klinck appeared in the second half after coming on for Harvey Stevens and made two saves.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- The Statesmen had a season high of 21 shots for the entire match.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
- This marks the eighth meeting between DSU and Spring Hill since the series started in 2006.
- This is the first conference win of the season for the Statesmen.
- Filho continues to lead the team in scoring with five goals on the season.
