CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University men's soccer team fell to West Florida after an early overtime goal from Gavin Gillies, Sunday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Statesmen and Argonauts were tied in shots and corner kicks for the first half with three apiece.
- UWF outshot Delta State in the second half 9-6.
- Gavin Gillies secured the win for the Argonauts after a left-footed shot in the bottom right of the goal less than three minutes into overtime with Marteinn Urbancic providing the assist.
- For the entire match, UWF outshot DSU 13-9 with three shots on goal and four shots on goal, respectively.
- Matthew Klinck made his first start between the posts and made two saves.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- The Statesmen had a season high of six corner kicks for the match.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
- This marks the 15th meeting between DSU and West Florida since the series started in 2005.
- This also marks the third straight year that DSU and West Florida have gone into overtime, DSU won 2-1 in 2014 and 2015.
- This marks the first home loss for the Statesmen.
