HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Delta State men's soccer team fell 5-1 to the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers on Friday, Sept. 30 at Huntsville, Ala.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hermann Bjornsson got the offense going for the Chargers, scoring the first goal of the game in the 15th minute.
- James Narke's header in the 47th minute gave the Chargers a 2-0 lead at the start of the second half.
- Narke scored again in the 63rd minute to increase UAH's lead, 3-0.
- Less than a minute later, Juan Brito scored on an assist by Brock Hollier to put Delta State on the board and cut UAH's lead 3-1.
- In the 73rd minute, UAH found the back of the net again, when Guy Clennett scored his second goal of the season on an assist by Kahlil Bell.
- Kahlil Bell scored the Chargers' fifth and final goal of the game in the 87th minute.
- Brito led the offense for Delta State with one goal, one shot on goal and one shot. Hollier recorded a shot and assist, and Ricardo Filho tallied two shots and one shot on goal.
- In goal for the Statesmen, Harvey Stevens faced 20 shots, made three saves and allowed five goals.
- Charger keeper, Myles Fullen, earned the win. He made two saves and conceded one goal.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- The Chargers out-shot the Statesmen only 6-5 in the first half, but 14-4 in the second half.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- This marks the second straight conference loss for the Statesmen.
- The 5-1 loss to UAH is the worst in series history since 2004, when the Statesmen were shutout 10-0.
- The Chargers scored a season high of five goals in today's match.
- Brito scored his first goal of the season.
- Brito is now tied for second on the team in shots with nine thus far.
- Hollier recorded his first assist of the season.
- Filho leads the Statesmen in shots (12) and shots on goal (eight).
