CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Delta State University women's basketball team outscored the University of West Georgia 55-33 in the second half to record a 63-55 come-from-behind victory in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Walter Sillers Coliseum.

How It Happened:

- After taking a 9-4 lead with 3:26 remaining in the opening quarter, UWG increased its advantage with a 14-4 run to end the period with a 23-8 lead.
- The Wolves were 8-of-13 from the field, including 6-of-9 from three point range, while DSU was just 4-of-15.
- The Lady Statesmen responded, making five of their next 10 shots, which helped them to an 11-6 spurt to open the second quarter.
- After West Georgia took its biggest lead of the game (35-19) with 3:59 left in the second quarter, on a jumper by Jessica Brown, the Lady Statesmen responded with an 8-0 run going into halftime.
- UWG finished the half 13-of-22 (59 percent) from the floor and 7-of-12 (58 percent) from three point range. DSU was 11-of-29 (38 percent) and just 1-for-7 from long-range.
- The Lady Statesmen were out rebounded 15-14, but scored 11 points off 10 West Georgia miscues.
- Kaelin Kneeland led DSU with eight points. Claudia Hester led the Wolves with nine first half points, all via the three point shot.
- After UWG increased its lead to 41-30, the Lady Statesmen held the visitors without a point for the next 5:44, helping lead to an 11-3 run to close out the quarter. DSU also forced nine West Georgia miscues in the frame.
- The fourth quarter belonged to DSU, as the Lady Statesmen took their first lead (45-44) with 8:20 remaining and relinquished the lead for just a combined 2:07 in the period.
- Carly Keller hit one of her two second half three pointers, as the shot clock expired, to give the Lady Statesmen a 56-51 lead with 3:20 remaining.
- DSU held a 58-56 lead with 20 seconds remaining, before Alondrea Rush forced a turnover by De'Ashia Jones. The Lady Statesmen sunk five free throws the rest of the way to earn the victory.
- West Georgia finished 20-of-46 (43.5 percent) from the floor, including just 7-for-24 (29.2 percent) in the second half. The Green-and-White finished 22-of-57 (38.6 percent from the floor).
- The Lady Statesmen outrebounded the visitors 38-33, including a 24-18 advantage in the second half, and used that to hold a 19-12 edge in second change points, and a 26-10 advantage in the paint.
- DSU scored 22 points off 22 West Georgia turnovers.
- Jones led UWG with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
- Kneeland led DSU with 20 points and 12 boards, while Ieysha Mays had 10 points and seven rebounds. Kneeland and Mays combined for 10 offensive boards.

- Kneeland's double-double was her second in three games.
- Mays' 10 points were a career high.
- The Lady Statesmen have recorded at least 15 offensive rebounds in six different games. All but two were in victories.
- Head coach Craig Roden moves into 5th place on the all-time wins list for the Lady Statesmen program. Roden now has 46 wins at the helm of Delta State, one more than David Midlick, who went 45-16 from 2013-2014.
