Jasmine McGill scored two goals, including what proved to be the match-winner, as the Delta State University women's soccer team earned a 3-1 victory over Spring Hill on Thursday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Diana Okechukwu got the Lady Statesmen on the board in the 39th minute when Cat Buckley took a rebound from her own shot and passed to the open Okechukwu, who calmly finished it.
- McGill scored her first of the game just two minutes into the second half when she took advantage of a failed clearance by Spring Hill goalkeeper HP Fluharty.
- The visitors scored their lone goal of the contest in the 84th minute on a long strike by Lilli Hanks,
- McGill responded less than one minute later, as she took a long ball from Taylor Wyatt and beat Fluharty.
- Ana Branch recorded five saves for DSU, while Fluharty had seven.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- The Lady Statesmen outshot Spring Hill 20-12.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- With the win the Lady Statesmen recorded their third GSC victory of the season, which is the most since the 2008 team was 4-4 in league play .
- Okechukwu's goal was the first of her DSU career.
- McGill's six goals currently rank sixth in DSU single season history.
- The 20 shots by DSU are the most this season.
