BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Delta State University men's soccer team used a season-high three second half goals, including a pair from senior
Cosmos Okeke Jr., as the Statesmen slipped past the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats 3-2 on Thursday night at Plaster Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Daniel Santibanez put the Bearcats up 1-0 in the 25th minute of the contest, getting an assist from John Clerveau and scoring his second of the year to give the home team the early advantage.
- Southwest Baptist trailed Delta State 7-2 in shots at the halftime intermission, but the Bearcats one goal was enough for the early lead.
- Zachary Breaux scored his first of the year in the 48th minute, off Matheus Malafaia's first assist of the season, to knot the game up at 1-1 and spark the Delta State offense.
- Senior Cosmos Okeke Jr. responded in the 66th minute, getting a long ball from fellow senior Jake Carragher and converting his second goal of the season to put the Statesmen up 2-1.
- Myron Duffy's third assist of the season helped balloon the Statesmen lead, as Okeke Jr.'s header gave him his second goal of the match and gave Delta State a 3-1 lead in the 78th minute.
- Santibanez and Jack McLaughlan teamed up roughly four minutes later to pull the Bearcats within one, as Santibanez notched his second of the contest.
- The Statesmen were able to hang on late, and outshot the Bearcats 10-3 in the second half and 17-5 for the game in snagging the road victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Okeke Jr.'s four points in the match are a season-high and team-high, and he is the first Delta State player this season to score multiple goals in a game.
- The win marked the first road win of the season for the Green-and-White.
