CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University men's basketball team had three players in double-figures, led by junior
Brett Warner's 19 points, as the Statesmen knocked off the Central Baptist College 72-62 on Tuesday night at Walter Sillers Coliseum.

TURNING POINT:
- After Central Baptist hustled out to a 7-2 lead, Delta State responded with an 18-0 run over the next 6:48 of game time and grabbed a lead they would not relinquish. During that stretch, DSU had five different players score a basket, and the Statesmen defense forced Central Baptist into an 0-13 stretch from the floor.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Brett Warner had his highest scoring output of the season, dropping 19 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point land to lead all scorers in the contest.

Cameron Burkett tallied 14 points and nine rebounds, both season-highs, and knocked down 4-of-6 from three-point land as well.

PJ Davis was the third man in double-figures, adding 13 points, five rebounds and six blocks.

Cameron Monix had 10 assists, a career-high and season-high amongst any DSU player, and added four rebounds.

Matthew Wilson (five points) and
Mitch Keller (six points and three rebounds) also had season-high's for Delta State.
- Delta State shot 52 percent (28-for-54) from the floor and 50 percent (9-of-18) from three. DSU also went 7-for-10 from the charity stripe.
- DSU's defense held Central Baptist to 26.5 percent shooting from the field in the first half, and they finished 25-of-64 (39 percent) overall. The Mustangs went just 5-of-17 from three point land.
- The Statesmen had a slim advantage on the glass, pulling down 35 rebounds to Central Baptist's 31, and has 22 assists to CBC's 11.
INSIDE THE FLOW:
- CBC had a 7-2 run out of the gate, but Delta State responded with an 18-0 run from the 16:56 mark of the first half to the 10:08 mark to take a 20-7 lead.
- Delta State's 18-0 run was part of a 23-4 run overall that saw the Statesmen take a 25-11 lead with 7:27 left to go in the first half.
- Warner scored five points in the final 1:22 of the first half in helping DSU put together a 7-4 spurt that allowed them to take a 35-21 lead into the halftime intermission.
- The Statesmen were off and running to start the second half, using a 15-4 run to take a 50-25 lead with 14:22 left. The run included a pair of Burkett three-pointers and a triple from Warner.
- The Mustangs closed the game on a 9-0 run over the final 2:43 to pull within ten points of Delta State.
NOTABLES:
- The Statesmen knocked down nine three-pointers as a team, their highest output of the season.
- Delta State also scored a season-high 72 points in the victory over Central Baptist.
- DSU had three scorers in double-figures (Warner - 19 points, Burkett - 14 points and Davis 13-points) for the first time this season.
