Carly Keller tallied a season-high 10 points and had a block and a late steal as the Delta State University women's basketball team defeated Shorter 64-58 as they ran their win streak to three games in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday at Walter Sillers.

How It Happened:
- After two turnovers by each team and a scoreless 1:54 to open the game, Shorter responded with a 12-0 run and held a ten-point, 12-2 advantage with 4:37 left in the opening quarter.
- Carly Keller hit-back-to-back three's to snap a six-minute scoring drought for the Lady Statesmen, pulling DSU to 14-8.
- Delta State used an 8-2 run to close the first quarter, and Shorter went the final 4:44 of the quarter without a basket, as the Lady Hawks held a 14-10 lead after one.
- Shorter's Taylor Adams hit a three-pointer and a layup to put the Lady Hawks on top 19-11,with 5:59 left to go before the halftime intermission.
- The Lady Statesmen responded by scoring 15 of the next 21 points and went 5-for-5 from the field over the final 3:51 to close out the second quarter on a 15-6 run.
- Carly Keller's steal and layup with 5 seconds to go before the break gave Delta State its second lead of the game, 26-25, as the half came to a close.
- Delta State shot 10-of-23 (44 percent) from the floor in the first half, including 3-for-5 (60 percent) from three-point land. The Lady Statesmen hit three of their five attempts from the free throw line. DSU was led by eight points from Keller and seven points from Rush. Kaelin Kneeland also added four points and four rebounds.
- Shorter went 10-of-27 (37 percent) from the field, including 2-for-6 (33 percent) from distance. The Lady Hawks went 3-for-5 (60 percent) from the free throw line. Taylor Adams led the way with 10 points and six rebounds for SU. Kayla Tillie chipped in six points, three rebounds and two assists.
- Delta State came out the locker room with guns blazing, as Rush nailed a trio of three-point shots in a 14-9 sprint for DSU to open the second half.
- Rush tallied 11 points for the quarter, including hitting two-of-three at the free throw line at the end of the third after being fouled on a last second shot attempt.
- Shorter opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run to tie the game at 51, but a Keller layup with 6:14 to play gave DSU a 53-51 lead.
- Ace Gilbert banked home a layup with 1:26 left to play to give Delta State a 60-56 lead, but Kayla Tillie responded with a layup of her own to cut it back to a one possession game.
- A Kaelin Kneeland jumper gave the home team a 62-58 lead with 36.5 seconds left, and Carly Keller collected a late block and steal with 28 and 19 seconds left, respectively, as DSU held on for the win.
- Delta State shot 23-for-46 for the game (50 percent), including going 6-of-9 (67 percent) from three-point range. DSU went 12-of-17 (71 percent) at the free throw line for the game. Shorter was 21-of-46 (46 percent) from the field and 5-of-12 (42 percent) from three point range, while going 11-for-15 at the free throw line.
- Rush led the way for Delta State with 18 points, while Keller added 10 points, two rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block. Kneeland added 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists, and Gilbert tallied 12 points for the Lady Statesmen.
- Shorter was led by Kayla Tillie, who had 16 points and five rebounds. Adams added 13 points and and eight rebounds for the Lady Hawks.

- The Lady Statesmen bench outscored the Shorter bench 24-14.
- Keller's 10 points were a season high.
- Delta State had its most efficient night from three-point land, converting 67% from distance.
- The Lady Statesmen had four players in double-figures for the third time this season.

- Alondrea Rush passed Jamie Howard (1997-2001) and moved into 10th all-time in program history in three-point attempts. Rush now sits alone with 250 attempts.

- The Lady Statesmen travel to Union in Jackson, Tennessee for a game on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m., before returning to Walter Sillers Coliseum for a Saturday, Feb. 18 contest against Christian Brothers. The tilt against CBU will mark the final home game of the season for the Lady Statesmen, and will be senior day as well.
