HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • West Florida cracked the scoreboard in the 17th minute, getting a header from Kameron Bethell off of a corner kick. Bethell, scoring his first of the year, was assisted by Barrett Mills.
  • The Argonauts made it 2-0 in the first half, getting a goal off the foot of Sergio Olatera. Olatera also scored his first goal of the season, and the assist came from Ed Chappe for UWF.
  • The score would hold at 2-0 in favor of the home team as the two sides went to the locker room. West Florida had nine shot to Delta State's four, and had six corner kicks to just one for the Statesmen.
  • Harvey Stevens was whistled for a foul in the 65th minute, and Sean Hoffstatter converted the penalty kick to make it 3-0 in favor of the Argos. The goal was Hoffstatter's second of the season.
  • A few minutes later, Sergio Olatera's second goal of the game and second of the season gave West Florida a 4-0 lead over the Statesmen.
  • Delta State and Brock Hollier responded, however, as Hollier scored his second of the season in 70th minute to get one back for the Green-and-White.
  • West Florida added another goal, this one from Isaiah Lopez (assisted by Erick Rivera), for the fifth goal of the afternoon for the Argonauts.
  • The Argonauts outshot the Statesmen 17-8 for the match.
