PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 5 University of West Florida women's soccer team scored two goals in the first half and added three more in the second to dispatch visiting Delta State, on Sunday at the UWF Soccer Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• UWF opened the scoring in the 11th minute, when Savanna Soares one touch pass helped Deneisha Blackwood give the hosts the opener.
• Soares gave UWF a 2-0 victory in the 31st minute, when her perfectly placed header beat DSU goalkeeper Ana Branch.  
• UWF outshot the Lady Statesmen 8-0 in the first 45 minutes.
• Grace Busby, who was the starting goalkeeper for UWF, gave her side its third goal of the game in the 50th minute on a shot from the top of the box.
• The Argonauts added goals in the 63rd and 72nd minute to finish the scoring.
• Branch had five saves for DSU, while Ella Hunkin made three stops in 18 minutes.

 
STAT OF THE GAME:

• The Argonauts outshot the Lady Statesmen 23-1.

• In the last two meetings, UWF has outscored the Lady Statesmen 9-0, while holding a 47-5 advantage in shots.
