CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team scored a pair of goals in each half to defeat Delta State University 4-1 in Gulf South Conference action on Friday, Sept. 8 at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Chargers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third minute, when Sydney Pfankuch's cross found Riley Ridgeway for a tap-in goal.
- UAH added to its lead in the 33rd minute on Hannah Oglesby's shot from 20 yards out that found the back of the net.
- Pfankuch put the game away in the 62nd minute, as she received a long pass off a counter attack and was able to beat DSU keeper Ella Hunkin.
- The Chargers scored their final goal of the game in the 76th minute, when Brynn Colvin took a pass down the right side from Claire Almarez and beat Hunk in far post.
- DSU scored its lone goal of the game on an 81st minute penalty kick by captain Lakyn Cryder, following a UAH handball.
- The Lady Statesmen were outshot 15-12, but held a 6-4 advantage in the second half.
- Hunkin had three saves for DSU, while Megan Buford had two for the visitors.
