CLEVELAND, Miss. – West Georgia scored six unanswered goals, including four in the first half, to knock off the Delta State University women's soccer team 6-2, on Sunday at Delta Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lady Statesmen took an early lead, in the 11th minute, as Anna Whitehead gathered a loose ball, after a blocked shot, and placed her shot off the far post.
- The DSU lead was short lived, as UWG equalized just 35 seconds later, when Katie Mitchell fired Jazmine Santiago's pass into the back of the net.
- UWG struck again, just over two minutes later, as Santiago had her shot go off the post, and get cleaned up by Sadie Prince.
- Santiago did more damage in the 35th minute, when she took a pass from Katie Mitchell and beat DSU goalkeeper Amanda Hilliard to the near post.
- UWG scored its fourth of the half in the 44th minute on a shot from the left side of the box by Hillary Resendiz.
- The Wolves outshot the Lady Statesmen 8-4 in the opening half.
- UWG scored two more goals early in the second half, coming just five minutes apart, as Prince scored her second of the game in the 51st minute and Nikki Conte struck from long range in the 55th minute.
- Jasmine McGill finished the scoring in the 69th minute, when she took a pass from Anoucke Bass and fired it in from close range.
- The visitors finished the game with a 16-12 advantage in shots.
- Jackie Donaldson finished the game with four saves, while Hilliard had four stops for DSU.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- After trailing 1-0 in the 11th minute, UWG scored six unanswered goals.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Whitehead has now scored a goal in three straight matches.
- In the last two meetings, UWG has outscored the Lady Statesmen 10-2.
- The loss snapped the first two-match GSC win-streak for DSU since 2008.
- The six goals allowed are the most since North Alabama defeated the Lady Statesmen 6-1, on Oct. 6, 2017.
