Montevallo held the visiting Delta State University women's soccer team without a goal, and to just eight shots, in a 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Georgine Lemak Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Romee Contreras opened the scoring for the Falcons in the 20th minute when she stole the ball away from a DSU defender, and fired a deflected shot past DSU goalkeeper Amanda Hilliard.
- The Falcons outshot the Lady Statemsen 5-4 in the first half, forcing three saves from Hilliard.
- Contreras struck again just one minute into the second half, taking advantage of a DSU miscue in its own box, and fired her own rebound into the back of the net.
- The Falcons finished with an 18-8 advantage in shots, including a 7-3 edge in shots on goal.
- Hilliard finished the match with five saves.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- Montevallo held the Lady Statesmen to just four shots in each half.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
- DSU has been shutout in six of its eight losses.
- The eight shots for DSU marked the eighth time this season that it had been held to below 10 in a game.
