CLEVELAND, Miss.– On a rainy Thursday afternoon, the Delta State University men's soccer dropped a Gulf South Conference matchup to Spring Hill College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Delta State brought a lot of pressure early on but could not get a goal.
- SHC scored first on a goal by Alex Lipinski in the sixth minute.
- Lipinski added a second one in the 17th minute.
- The Badgers scored a third in the 26th minute off a shot by Jack Laforge.
- Four minutes later, Carlos Bestard earned the first goal for the Statesmen.
- In the 43rd minute, SHC added their fourth goal of the first half.
- Spring Hill added their fifth and final goal in the 49th minute off a header from Luca Carrese.
- Matthew Edwards added a second goal for the Statesmen in the 52nd minute.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
- Bestard now has the second most goals for the Statesmen this season with five.
- The freshman from Spain has the most shots on goal with 16.
- Alex Lipinski for SHC now has 14 goals this season which is second best in the GSC.
- Matthew Edwards now has three goals in the last two games.
