HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Diana Okechukwu gave DSU an early 1-0 lead, as she scored in the 16th minute, off an assist from Casey LaFontaine.
- In the 27th minute, Jasmine McGill scored her second goal of the season to give the Lady Statesmen a 2-0 lead.
- The Lady Statesmen were outshot 11-9 in the first half, as Union forced four saves by Hilliard.
- Hilliard and DSU held off multiple onslaughts by the Lady Bulldogs in the second half, until Erin Longsden scored off an assist from Tasha Toms in the 80th minute.Â
- Anna Whitehead finished the scoring in the 83rd minute, giving DSU its fourth goal of the match.
- Union outshout the Lady Statesmen 27-18, including a 12-10 advantage in shots on goal.
STAT OF THE GAME:
- Hilliard's 10 saves helped keep the Lady Bulldogs off the scoreboard.
