Livingston, Ala. -- West Alabama scored seven runs in the sixth inning to claim a 12-8 victory over the Delta State University softball team, on Friday at the UWA Softball Complex.

- DSU jumped on top 4-0 in the top of the first, using Byrd's two run home run and a two out single from
Carlie Vice.
- UWA answered in the bottom of the inning, plating three runs on a trio of RBI singles.
- In the third inning DSU added three more runs on an RBI single from
Kaitlyn Eaves and a two RBI base knock from
Mari Alex Sandridge.
- UWA added two runs in the 5th before adding seven in the 6th inning.
- Byrd added her second home run of the game, which was a solo shot, in the seventh inning.
