CLEVELAND, Miss. – Jacob Ramos tossed six shutout innings scattering three hits with four strikeouts as Shorter University (13-16, 5-10 GSC) claimed a 3-0 win over No. 1/2 Delta State University (20-6, 11-3 GSC) in game three on Sunday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.
Shorter claimed the series 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks grabbed a 1-0 leading in the second inning when Angel Acosta walked and later came home on a wild pitch.
- Shorter added two runs in the seventh to take a 3-0 lead. Ricky Alvarez singled and after going to third on a throwing error on the play scored on a wild pitch. Matt Christian walked and scored on Luis Acevedo's groundout.
ON THE MOUND
- Hayden Davey (3-2) gave up one run on one hit with two walks to suffer the loss for the Statesmen.
- Jacob Ramos (2-6) tossed six shutout innings with four strikeouts and two walks before leaving in the seventh with an injury.
- Micah Wyatt went 2.2 innings giving up one hit to earn his first save.
- Melvin Frazier tossed 2.2 scoreless relief innings for the Statesmen with a strikeout.
NOTABLES
- The Statesmen offense was limited to a season-low five hits.
