SEARCY, Ark. -- The Delta State University softball team combined for 25 hits, including 18 in game one, as it split a non-conference doubleheader with No. 10 Harding, on Tuesday at Jerry Moore Field. DSU took game one 10-3, before falling 4-1 in game two.

GAME CHANGER:
- Leading 2-0 in the second inning, the Lady Statesmen strung together seven hits to score five runs in the inning.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- DSU outhit the hosts 18-7.Â
- Five Lady Statesmen recorded multiple hits.
Mallory Myers led the way, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs.

Kaitlyn Eaves led the Lady Statesmen with three RBIs.

Kailyn Lofton (2-for-4) had a double apiece, which were the only two extra base hits for DSU.
Kelly Byrd also had three hits for the Lady Statesmen.

Nicole Fullilove (3-1) went the distance, allowing three runs on seven hits.
KEY PLAYS:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Delta State started the game in the first with two runs on four hits highlighted by a two RBI single by Eaves.

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The Lady Statesmen added a pair of runs, to complete the scoring, in the seventh on an infield single by Myers and Gibson's double.
NOTEWORTHY:
- The 18 hits are the most for DSU since recording 20 against Union on March 5, 2016.
- The loss for Harding was its first setback of the season at home (5-1).
- DSU has now scored 10 or more runs in four contests.
- The 10 RBIs tied a season high.
- DSU is 9-1 when Byrd drives in at least one run.

- Harding did not record a hit against starting pitcher
Taylor Johnson until the fourth inning, when it hit three straight doubles helping score a pair of runs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lady Statesmen had a 7-5 advantage in hits, but left 10 runners on base.
- After recording four hits in the opener, Myers led the Lady Statesmen with two hits.
- Johnson (5-5) allowed two runs on two hits.
KEY PLAYS:
- The Lady Statesmen left the bases loaded in the third and sixth innings and left runners on in five of seven frames.
- Harding had three doubles in the fourth inning, leading to a pair of runs.
- The Lady Bisons added two more runs in the fifth on a two-RBI double.
- DSU scored its lone run of the game, to complete the scoring, on an RBI single by Myers.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Myers has at least one hit in all but five games, and has reached base safely in all but two games.
- The Lady Statesmen have dropped three games when outhitting their opponents.
