Miami Shores, Fla. – Three goals in the second half gave Barry University the 4-0 victory over Delta State University in the 2018 season opener at Buccaneer Field on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Barry University brought the pressure early with five corner kicks in the first 12 minutes
Andreas Volk scored the first goal in the 13th minute.
Kormakur Thorrson took the first shot of the season for the Statesmen.
In the 53rd minute, Flavio Colasanti netted the second goal of the game.
Francisco Greco added the third goal for the Buccaneers in the 70th minute.
The final goal came from Ander Urkidi in the 87th minute for Barry.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS:
Delta State managed eight shots with only one shot on goal.
Barry put up 21 shots with seven on target.
Lewis McClure took the most shots for the Statesmen with two.
Barry earned nine corners in the ball game.

Miguel Novo Villar had three saves in his first start for the Statesmen.
